Goal Plan

Goal Plan

My Goals:
I main three goals are definitely graduating high school with a good OP, getting a degree in either marine biology or equine science at the University I'm hoping to go to at the time, and lastly being able to have a career as a marine biologist or and equine vet, as well as being able to travel the world whilst doing so.

In order to get into a marine biology or equine science course I will need to take certain steps. Firstly I'll need to graduate high school with the required OP and prerequisites. I will then need to apply for Universities that will enable me to study equine science or marine biology. I will need to complete and pass my degree and then hopefully I'll be able to find a job involving either of these career options after maybe doing some work experience.

My education goals definitely link with my ideal career as I'm really wanting to do excellent in certain subjects which are prerequisites for my degree, as well as I need a good overall mark for.

I also definitely think this vision board is a good reminder of my future goals that I'mm hoping to achieve as I'll always have something I know I want to work towards.

Trends of the Future

Trends of the Future

What did you find most interesting?
I found the fact that over 60% of the jobs younger students are being trained on will be overtaken and radically changed by the time we're old enough to major in that industry. I find this absolutely mid blowing as most of the jobs that younger people are wanting as a career path may not be an option in the future.

Top Three Growth Industries:
The top three growth industries by 2025 are heath care and social assistance, professional, scientific and technical services, and education and training. I wasn't necessarily surprised by the health care and social assistance industry  as the early 1900s is said to be the baby boomer time. This means that all those babies that were born during the early 1900s are now our grandparents and are getting older by the day. Which means that there will be a massive number of older people coming into age care homes and needing assistance in their daily lives. This will lead to more jobs in this department being open. I am personally interested in the scientific services as I would love to work and help animals, in particular horses or marine life.

Top Tertiary Qualified and Vocational and Trade Jobs:
None of these jobs particularly interest me as I have know interest in working with children or people in schools or hospitals, nor do I want to join the accounting department (sorry mum). However, I want to work with animals and help animals.

Information Technology:
I would definitely say I'm no the most technical person in the world and that there is definitely room for improvement. Way of improving my digital literacy and my technical skills are

Knowing about Trends:
I did find knowing about the trends interesting as some of these jobs you wouldn't believe would be one of the highest qualified or grown industries by 2025. I also believe that knowing about these trends will help greatly with future employees exploring possible career choices as its helpful to know what jobs will have a wide availability for employment.

Exploring Career Options

Exploring Career Options

MARINE BIOLOGIST:
This career option interests me as I have always had a special interest in animals, marine animals in particular. I love researching and learning things about the organisms that live beneath the surface. I have also always been a curious person. I'm interested and curious as to why marine animals do certain things, why they eat certain foods and why people are terrified of certain animals. I want to dig deeper. The pathway I will need to take to become a marine biologist involves graduating high school and getting a degree in marine biology at University. As well as studying the prerequisites, English, math A, B and either Biology or Chemistry. I can also best prepare myself for this career path whilst at school, by doing work experience and studying the recommended subjects such as history.

EQUINE VET
From an early age I loved and had a passion for horses. Being able to help and cure horses daily, I have always wanted. I have the personality traits of a helper and a carer. I believe these traits 100% link to this occupation because as a vet you're helping animals, you're saving their lives. The pathway I would take to be successful in this occupation is by taking the prerequisites such as English and any of the sciences, and either math A or B. As well as by graduating high school and then getting a degree in Equine Science at University. I can also best prepare while at school by doing work experience.
